TYPES OF BEHAVIORAL DISORDERS

There are many kinds and forms of developmental disorders, mental, intellectual disabilities, and behavioral health disorders.

Intro

All of them are categorized and classified in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), a handbook used by health care professionals as the official guide to the diagnosis of mental disorders. They are currently on their 5th edition.

Focus

There are more than 200 classified forms of mental illness yet the most common are:

  • Clinical Depression
  • Anxiety Disorder
  • Bipolar Affective Disorder
  • Schizophrenia and other psychoses
  • Eating disorders
