0 Points: Hollywood Arts High School without Tori Vega

Before Tori Vega, Hollywood Arts High was just a normal performing arts school. Students were used to their own routine, especially those who eventually befriended Tori. This is similar to having no defensible thesis in an essay because no one really that stood out and no one had a purpose to overachieve because they were used to the same talent every day. The school was basic until Tori came just like how a weak thesis is without all of its components.

When Tori Vega joined Hollywood Arts High, she heavily influenced the school and the students enrolled. She was now a new challenge for those students due to the talent that she possessed. This led to her being the main character of the show similar to how a thesis is the main foundation of an essay. Tori is kind but has a bit of a temper. When faced with adversity, she stands her ground and stick up for her friends and family. She is defensive towards things she believes in and is straight forward when necessary just like a thesis has to be in order to get a point across.

Trina Vega is Tori's sister. She acts like she is the most talented person at Hollywood Arts, when in reality she isn't. Trina is spoiled, egotistical, arrogant, etc. making her character irrelevant and empty/shallow. This is similar to an essay that repeats information, has irrelevant information or just restates the thesis. Trina is a follower and often attempts to one-up her sister, Tori, by doing the same things as her in a futile attempt to be better.

1 Point: Beck Oliver

Beck Oliver is Tori's friend but also Jade Wests' boyfriend. He is the most mature in the group but he is fairly quiet and doesn't talk much. He provides basic advice to the friend group, similar to an essay with mostly general evidence. There are missing aspects to a stronger friendship just like there are missing aspects to strengthen an essay.

Jade West is also a member of the group. She always tries to find a way to blame things on Tori and to hate on her just because she feels threatened by her. Just like a line of reasoning could be faulty in an essay, Jade's reasons to dislike Tori often don't make sense. In addition, when Tori gets into arguments, she might but not usually backs her up. Similar to how an essay might have some relevant evidence.

3 Points: Cat Valentine

Just like Andre, Cat has always been very kind to Tori since she got into Hollywood Arts. This consistent friendship is similar to how as essay should be to function, consistent with most components. She has a bubbly, cheerful personality and she rarely gets angry or annoyed. While she is a good friend, she sometimes zones out or doesn't understand what people say to her leaving her slightly confused. This leaves Tori and her friendship feeling a bit incomplete although it seems like they are really close. This is similar to an essay that is presented well but may be incomplete.

4 Points: Andre Harris

Andre is the character that has the strongest relationship with Tori, whom serves as the thesis. He has been there for Tori since day one showing his loyalty to her, just like a theme throughout an essay. Just like evidence in an essay consistently supports the line of reasoning, Andre always supports Tori in everything she needs. They often pair up with each other. For example, when performing they are cohesive in that they make the perfect duo, just like elements of an essay coming together.

Lane is the guidance counselor at Hollywood Arts. While he sometimes helps students with their problems, he is often lazy and reluctant to help some students out. Just like an essay without sophistication, he often overlooks the complexities of the topics, the student's problems, and only sometimes suggests possible interpretations, solutions of students' problems. Both an essay and him lack deeper thinking.

1 Point: Erwin Sikowitz

Sikowitz is the main teacher from the show, everyone of his students seem to like him and enjoy his class. Although he is quite strange, he does odd things such as drink out of a coconut in class. He says that the coconut milk gives him "visions" or views on life, we can compare this to the different complexities and interpretations that an essay must have to be considered sophisticated. In addition, he teaches his students in different ways that are fun and often persuades his students to try new things. He also has a vivid personality just like a sophisticated essay should have as well.
