Eos annunced the coming of the sun at dawn each morning. The dew was said to be caused by her tears as she flew across the sky.

According to the titan myth, Atlas, bore the sky aloft and was associated with endurance.

apollo and daphne - a romance myth

APOLLO

In his pursuit of the goddess Daphne, the god Apollo, frightened her. When she called out for help, her father turned her into a laurel tree.

athena and arachne - a contest

ARACHNE

Arachne who was very skilled at weaving, challenged the goddess Athena to a contest at weaving. When Athena could not handle the affront to her pride, she turned Arachne into a spider.

echo - a talkitive nymph

ECHO

The talkitive nymph, Echo distracted the goddess Hera while her husband was unfaithful. To punish her, Hera took away her voice. She was only able to repet the words of others.
