What neptune is made of

Seventeen days after the discovory of Neptune astronomers began to discover Neptune had its own moon system. Initanaly only triton Neptunes largest moon could be observed .By the mid of 20th century they have come to know Neptune has 14 moons. Nereid Neptunes 2nd largest moon was discovered may 1st 1949. Larissa Neptunes third largest moon was discovered may 24th in 1981.

how many moons does Neptune have?

climate

Neptune has the wildest and strangest wheather in the solar system. It has huge storms with extremly high winds. Neptunes atmosphere has a dark spot which comes and goes and bright cirrus like clouds change rapidly. Neptune has a average tempture of-353 fahrenheit and -214 celsius.

climate

Distance from Earth and sun

Neptune is 2.07 billon miles from the sun and 4,504,000,000 billon km from earth.

Distance from Earth and sun

discovory

Neptunes discovory was on September 23rd 1846 by Urbain Le Verrier, Johann Galle , and John Couch Adams.

Neptunes year is equivalent to 165 years on earth.

It takes 165

earth years for Neptune to orbit the sun. One day on Neptune is 16 Earth days that is also how long it takes for it to rotate on its axis once!

WHAT IS A YEAR AND DAY

ON NEPTUNE?

What is neptune made of

Neptune is made of 75% hydrogen

25% helium

and 1% methane .

There is no water on Neptune. For water to form a planet it needs volcanic activity. There are no volacanos on Neptune, this is impossible because it is a gas giant, it has no surface or plates.

What is neptune made of

Neptune was named after the roman god of the sea (Posedion)

HOW DID NEPTUNE GET ITS NAME?

Fun facts

Fun facts

* Neptune has the second largest gravity of any planet

* Neptune has a very thin colletion of rings made of ice

* Only one spacecraft has flown by Neptune

*Gerald Kuiper discovered Triton Neptunes largest moon.

The Kuiper Belt was named after him

* Neptune is the farthest away from the Sun but closest to the Kuiper Belt
