Hello. I am Emma, a 5th grade STEM GT student AT Powell Elementary. I am eager to invent something to solve a problem, so I came up with the groom broom.

Are you tired of dog hair getting on your furniture? Do you wish your dog would just groom itself? Well, wish no more!

Reason For Invention
I chose to make this invention because when I try to groom my dog, he doesn't hold still because he doesn't like me to groom him. With this, I only have to train him to walk through the invention. After he walks through, I give him a treat, so it is like teaching your dog a trick.
Consumers
Consumers should be dog owners and there dogs. If dog owner is a child, as parent to help construct.

Improve or Redesign
If I could redesign this project, I would make them adjustable so you can shrink them down to the size of your dog.

My first idea was using vacuum cleaners.
My second idea was using sponges.
My final, and by far greatest idea, was using push brooms. I chose the push brooms because you don't have to plug them in or wet them.

My plan is to us three strips of wood, one the height of my dog, and two the length and width of my dog.

My materials are going to be:

Creating took quite a bit of effort, and not a lot of time. It only took about an hour and thirty minutes.
The only hard part was that it was very hot outside while we were building.

On the market there is a Pet Grooming Razor that sells for $30-$80. It is very expensive, but it takes a long time to groom your dog with. They also are sometimes ineffective because you have to change the batteries if they run out or the batteries die.
My invention is better because it can solve all pet owner grooming problems.You do not have to change the batteries, and, it is lees expensive, so a lot more people can buy it. The product is ranging from about $15-$60 ranging on the size of dog. They will also come in different colors.
