World War 2: The Starting
WWII was started because after WWI the Germans had to give up land and their army forces. The Nazi party leader Adolf Hitler promised to make Germany great again so he started to make an army and take away other countries land
World War Two was started in 3rd September 1939, when the current Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain declared war on Germany.
In the War many countries helped on the German side they had Germany, Italy and Japan. On the British side we had Britain, France, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, India, the Soviet Union, China and the United States of America.
Rationing is when you have little items like food
In WWII people used to ration on foods because there was less food in war times. To make sure everyone got the same amount of food. To buy food you needed a ration a book. If you had no ration book = no food!
In WWII the prime minister Neville Chamberlain decided to start rationing because the Germans bombed most of the food supply ships so there wasn't enough food for everyone because the poor people would have nothing and rich would have everything. To make everyone eat rationing was created.

The Blitz & Shelters
At night the Germans ( the Nazi party ) flew air raid helicopters at night and dropped bombs in the cities. People were forced to use special curtains at night so they couldn't see the lights.
Shelters were used when there was a bomb raid so that they are protected. Most people had shelters in their gardens while others shared one on the street.
There are different types of shelters used in the war some of the most used ones are:
