Cycle 1

Title

Jer 26:1 starts with the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim (608).

Jer 27:1 tells of the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah (597).

Jer 28:1 reports the confrontation "in the same year" between Jeremiah and Hananiah and its aftermath (597/593?).

Jer 29:1 begins Jeremiah's letter to the leaders of those in the first exile (597, cf. 29:2).

Jer 30-31 contains predominately poetic materials of comfort (no date). Jer 32:1 dates the material to the 10th year of Zedekiah (587).

Jer 33:1 brings a "second" word to Jeremiah during this period (587).

Jer 34:1 dates to the time when Nebuchadnezzar laid siege to Jerusalem in the reign of Zedekiah (post-588).

Cycle 2

Title

Jer 35:1 dates the message to the reign of Jehoiakim (609-598).

Jer 36:1 dates the confrontation between Jeremiah and Jehoiakim to the 4th year of Jehoiakim's reign (605).

Jer 37:1 sets the scene in the reign of Zedekiah after Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon had made him king (post-597).

Jer 39:1 marks the time when Nebuchadnezzar laid siege to Jerusalem in the 9th year of Zedekiah's reign (588) and contains a parallel account to 2 Kgs 25.

Jer 40:1 is set after the destruction of Jerusalem, when Jeremiah was released from Ramah (post-587), but before the assassination of Gedaliah.

Jer 41:1 provides a date for the assassination of Gedaliah in the 7th month (587). Jer 44:1 identifies the following as Jeremiah's letter to the refugees in Egypt after Gedaliah's death (587).

Cycle 3

Title

Jer 45:1 dates to the 4th year of Jehoiakim when Jeremiah dictated to Baruch (605).

Jer 51:59 dates a message to Seraiah in the 4th year of Zedekiah's reign (594). Jer 52:1 summarizes the reign of Zedekiah from his accession through Jerusalem's destruction (587) in his 11th year, with parallel material from 2 Kgs 24-25.
