When: Once every other month - 5 slots per clinic

Why?

Hearing loss in general population: ~17% (RNID 2018)

Hearing loss in LD population: ~ 40- 45% (Neumann 2006, Evenhuis 2001)

Unadressed sensory impairment can impact:

Mental health

Communication

Social interaction

Challenging behaviour

Lack of self-reporting

  • Capacity to communicate that hearing has changed

  • Hitting/ pulling ears

  • Challenging behaviour

  • More withdrawn

  • Have they ever had a hearing test?
