Jean Ichbiah was born on March 25th, 1940. He was a descendant of the Greek and Turkish jews. His family later emigrated to France. His death date was January 26th, 2007. He died from complications of a brain tumor at the age of 66.

Ichbiah was a French inventor who created the first object-oriented language that became an international language in 1995. It is still widely used in today´s generation.

Ichbiah was a former chairman of the Simula User´s group. He was one of the founding members of IFIP WG 2.4 on Systems Implementation Languages. He had later joined the CII Honeywell Bull in Louveciennces, France. He became a member of the Programming Research Division.

Ada the program, was famously named after Lady Ada Lovelace, who is another computer engineer. Ada Lovelace was considered the first computer programmer recorded in history. The project, Ada, was led by Ichbiah himself and was standardized to ADA 83.
