In this cartoon it shows a man washing a Filipino Indian who is supposedly "dirty." In the water you also see the word civilization. In the back you see two other indians getting dressed in cloths that represents America who look like they are smiling. How this this cartoon shows ethnocentrism is it is showing that the way of the american life is better than how they are living, which explains the smiling men in the back. So by washing the "dirty" Indian, it is showing that they should get rid of their was of living, which is considered dirty here, and have a civilization the way that America does it.

In this poem, it was a writing to the U.S to tell them that imperialism it about helping other and that it was their job to civilize the people who were native around them. This to them was a burden. This was based on the fact that the author thought the British had the right to control India. This shows ethnocentrism because it is saying that America knows what is like to be civilized and that the native people around them was not considered civilized, so they must take upon the burden of making the native people around civilized like them.

In front of the door are three guys with with jars who represent the anti-imperialist offering something to lose the weight Sam, but he declines.
