Summary
Mattie is a 14 year old girl that was very immature until one day her mom got sick with the fever. She then had to leave Philly, and take a carriage to her relatives far. When the doctor checked to see if she was allowed to pass, and was denied with her grandfather. Mattie passes out and wakes up at Bush Hill(where people with the fever are treated.) Then once they made it back home, criminals killed grandfather. Eventually, Mattie's mom saw her again and Mattie was more responsible.
