Many of us know Thomas Jefferson as the 3rd president and author of the Declaration of Independence. However, another notable act of his was the invention of the swivel chair.
Thomas Jefferson was born April 13, 1743, to Peter and Jane Randolph Jefferson.
Mr Jefferson took his last breath on July 4, 1826 at the age of 83.
Thomas Jefferson graduated from the College of William and Mary in 1762.
Jefferson was born as the 3rd of 10 children. He had 2 older sisters, and of his 7 younger siblings he had 4 sisters and 3 brothers, however only one of the brothers survived into adulthood.
Thomas Jefferson's invention of the swivel chair came at some point in the years of 1774 and 1775, while writing the Declaration of Independence.
*Thomas Jefferson also invented the polygraph.
*Thomas had 6 children with Marth Wales Skelton, his only wife
* Martha died of childbirth in 1882
* It is presumed after Matha's death Thomas fathered more children with one of his slaves.
* Jefferson designed his mansion, Monticello,
by himself.
