Early Life
Walter Tull was born in Folkstone,Kent on the 28 of April 1888.His full name was Walter Daniel John Tull.His mother (Alice) was a Folkstone civilian and his father (Daniel) was from Barbados.His dad moved to England for a better job.His childhood was great until his mum passed from cancer .So Daniel decided to marry Alice's cousin and Walter had two brothers.The oldest brother was called William and then the second brother who was two years older was Edward.He also had three sisters and one was dead who was called Bertha and the other was called Cecilia and baby was called Elsie.Tragedy struck again when Tull:@s father died from heart disease,leaving the family destitute.His step-mother was was for ced to send Walter and Edward to an orphanage un London Here he found a love of sport.

When Walter was living in London his football talent was being noticed by his friend who gave him a recommendation to do a trial for Clapton F.C.By then there were not a lot only a couple of black professional football players in Britain.Tull was worried about not getting in because of his color. But,after his trial he was given a place he was given a place in the first team.However before he played for Clapton for Bonner Road School Team.
World War 1
In 1914 Tull's football career was cut in half when the thunder and lightning (aka war) came out to strike bolts.Britain was at war and Walter WANTED TO HELP FOLLOWED BY THOUSANDS. SO HE SIGNED FOR THE FOOTBALL BATTALIONS AND WAS ISSUED A NEW OUTFIT.IN October 1916,Tull fought bravely at the Battle of Somme.At this TIME , he proven he was he was was happily promoted to 2nd Lieutenant Tull
Death
Tull was shot in back of the neck on March 25th during the Battle Of the Somme.He was 29 when he died.He was shot while crossing No Man's Land.His men tried to recover body three times
