Words fall into a number of grammatical classes.

Open Class
- It posses a context-independent meaningful content.
- It is one that commonly accepts the addition of new words.
Closed Class.
Closed Class
- Principally, to exercise a syntactic function.
- Is one to which new items are very rarely added.
