A 2018 hit
This song describes the hardships of a relationship. The song reveals to make someone "happier" might involve stepping away. It is about letting go of things you don't want to let go. In the music video, a girl is having to let go of her dog that has been with her for so long and now is being put down . This song reminded of Marshmello's friend whom has gone through losing someone in a similar way.
Marshmello's 2017 hit, Silence, describes that someone is comfortable with sitting back and being quiet. But still wants to be a lover. This song also was also for explaining the Minneapolis Star tribune. The Minneapolis Star tribune is the longest newspaper in the world. The line, "I found peace in your violence" this expresses about the noise and disruption about being an outcast.
Both songs talk about relationships and share a depressing feeling towards it.
One difference is that Silence talks about wanting to get a relationship and Happier is about losing one.
I personally think that Silence is a better song because it doesn't have such a heartbroken feeling to it compared to Happier. Happier is also a song that gets overplayed on the radio many times.
