What is Coronavirus?

Coronaviruses are a large group of viruses that are common among animals. In rare cases, they are what scientists call zoonotic, meaning they can be transmitted from animals to humans

Symptoms?

Symptoms can show up anywhere from 2 to 14 days

after exposure. Early on, they're a lot like the common cold.

You might notice:

-Fever

-Cough

-Shortness of breath

Infections range from mild to serious. The virus can turn deadly if it leads to pneumonia, respiratory failure, or septic shock. Those most at risk of death are the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.

A new Chinese coronavirus, a cousin of the SARS virus, has infected hundreds since the outbreak began in Wuhan,The World Health Organization's China office says it began receiving reports in late December of a mysterious virus behind a number of pneumonia cases in Wuhan, a city in eastern China with a population of roughly 11 million people.

Researchers suspect the virus originated at a seafood market in Wuhan, where wild animals, including birds, rabbits, bats, and snakes are traded.

What are the precautions one has to take to decrease the infection of Coronavirus in personal basis?

The World Health Organization is recommending that people take simple precautions to reduce exposure to and transmission of the virus, for which there is no specific cure or vaccine.

The UN agency advises people to:

-Frequently wash their hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or warm water and soap

-Cover their mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue when sneezing or coughing

-Avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever or cough

-Seek early medical help if they have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, and share their travel -history with healthcare providersAvoid direct, unprotected contact with live animals and surfaces in contact with animals when visiting live markets in affected areas

-Avoid eating raw or undercooked animal products and exercise care when handling raw meat, milk or animal organs to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods

china built two hospitals within 8 days,proper precautions were taken and campaigns were launched around the world to spread awareness.wuhan was under lockdown within 24hrs . Asia is overpopulated making it difficult to control the virus and ensure the medical supplies needed, in addition to that some flights were able to leave Wuhan before the lockdown however it’s unconfirmed whether those vehicles carried the virus or not.
