Prepositions of Place

PREPOSITIONS OF PLACE

- BETWEEN : Entre

Ejemplo:

The shop is between the bank and the train station.

She is Standing between Peter and John

BEHIND : Detrás de

Ejemplos:

The church is behind the school

He is standing behind you

UNDER: Debajo de

Ejemplos:

The ball is under the chair

The dog is under de tree

PREPOSITIONS OF PLACE

- IN FRONT OF vs. OPPOSITE

Ejemplos:

-The hotel is in front of the station

-The bank is opposite the market

-ABOVE = Por encima /* sobre

Ejemplo: The clock is above the table.

-BELOW: Por debajo

Ejemplo: The table is below the clock.

PREPOSITIONS OF PLACE

- NEXT TO (BESIDES)

Ejemplos:

-The supermarket is next to (besides) the bank

-Sit next (besides) me.

BY = Cerca, al lado de,junto a.

Ejemplos:

-I sit by the window

-Our house is by the river

Prepositions

PREPOSITIONS OF TIME

BEFORE: Antes, Antes de.

Uso: Se coloca detrás de verbos y nombres o sustantivos.

Ejemplos:

- Call me before one.

- They arrived before me.

AFTER: Despues, despues de, tras

USO: Se coloca detras de verebos y nombres o sustantivos.

Ejemplos:

-We will see you after the movie

-I arrived after them.

PREPOSITIONS OF TIME

DURING; Durante

Uso: Puede ir seguido de verbos y nombres o sustantivos.

Ejemplos:

-Don´t talk during the movie

- I don´t like to watch television during the day

FOR : Durante, por
