What is Norovirus

Sometimes referred to as the "Stomach Flu" although it is not connected to the flu.

May experience violent vomiting and diarrhea

How is Norovirus Spread?

Norovirus is found in the stool and vomit of an infected person.

Can be contagious up to 3 days after symptoms reslove

* Eating or drinking contaminated foods/liquids

*Touching contaminated surfaces, then placing hand in mouth

* Having direct contact with infected stool or vomit

*Having contact with droplets of vomit (can become airborne and can travel 25 feet

How can Norovirus be prevented?

Everyone plays a part of norovirus by practicing good personal hygiene

Frequent hand washing with soap and water

Reporting illness symptoms to your supervisor

Prevention

Preventing bare hand contact with all ready to eat and ready to serve foods

Stay home when you are ill
