1919 World Series Scandle

Who?

The 1919 World Series was between the Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds

What?

During 1919 the Chicago White Sox "threw" the World Series meaning that they lost on purpose rumors said they were bribed to lose.

Why?

You might be asking why the White Sox would take up such an offer. It was rumored that some of the White Sox were conversing with gamblers and were told the could make a lot more money if the lost the game.

Weeks prior to the World Series the gambler was talking to a specific player named Arnold Gandil. Arnold had told some of his team mates about the proprsal and they were in but did not tell the rest of the team or their coach. I was also rumored that the ower of the team knew

The week of the World Series the players all had an idea of that they had to do to lose. First game they lost second lost and it kept repeating until it was all over.
