An Infographic

Mission Statement:

"We will provide a moral and rigorous education to a diverse student body, accomplished in a hands-on, technology infused educational environment that embraces differentiated instruction and individual attention that will allow our students to attend college, while developing a commitment to global citizenship, environmental sustainability, and personal virtue."

Counseling Services

Philip's Academy Charter School offers a wide array of counseling services. Counseling services are typically offered through the school's social workers. Philip's Academy Charter School models its counseling services around a Strengths-Based Approach and Trauma-Informed Care.

Counseling Services

Strengths- Based Approach

Counselors encourage students to focus on their talents, skills, and resources to overcome challenges or adversity.

Trauma- Informed Care

Counselors work with students to help students recognize how their past experiences influence their present thoughts and behavior (Knight, 2015). Counselors work with students who have gone through or who are going through traumatic experiences to recognize themselves as strong and resilient victors rather than victims subject to their experiences.

Academic Services

Philip's Academy Charter School provides a wide range of academic support services to students with many different learning disabilities or behavior disorders.

Academic Services

Responsive Classroom Approach

"Responsive Classroom" is an approach to teaching that stimulates academic success and fosters social and emotional growth. The outcomes of responsive classrooms should be developmentally responsive teaching, engaging academics, effective classroom management, and positive communities (About responsive classrooms, n.d.).

Responsive Classrooms

Classroom Support

Students are provided with classroom support as needed. Classroom support includes teacher aides and behavior assistants. Classroom supports benefit teachers and students alike.

Classroom Support

Nurtured Heart Approach

The Nurtured Heart Approach encourages teachers and staff to positively reinforce children's desirable behavior though endless support and praise. Teachers and staff are to set clear rules for when undesirable behavior is displayed and enforce said rules consistently and as necessary (Glasser, 2017). This is especially beneficial for children with behavioral issues.
