- Began with an idea
- Father Rangi is made from the night sky
- Then Mother Papa came to be
- They fell in love

- Father Rangi and Mother Papa were so in love Father Rangi layed on Mother Papa all of the time
- This created eternal darkness
- Their sons hated the darkness

- Tu chopped away at the tendons keeping them together (their blood making red clay)
- Finally Tane, with his shoulders on his mother and fee ton his father pushed them apart

- Angry and resented Tane for creating day
- Left to be with Father Rangi
- Came back to Earth as a hurrican to destory Tane's forest and Tangaroa's seas causing them to start war
- Attacked Tu but was unsucessful in deafeting him, Tu gained confidence and attack the other brothers
