Child Psychologists are trained to help children with their physical, cognitive, and emotional development.

These psychologist help the children who have difficulty explaining their feeling and what they maybe be going through.

They help evalute children's behavior to determine whether their behavior is noraml or abnormal.

Clinical child psychologist not only help with mental health disorders but helps treat issues children experience.

History

By 1962 clinical child psychology was introduced.

There was an issue that took place regarding child psychology. There were "Psychologists" getting licesure and provided their services to children and parents with out any training. This took place from 1965-1985

The APA 1998 made training a requirement inorder to recieve licensure and to recieve patients.

Requirements

The requirements vary in this field but a psychologist in clinical practice a licence is mandetory.

Clinical and counseling roles often require a doctorate in psychology and a 1-2 year interniship of professional experience.

There is the need to pass an examination called Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology.

Written and oral communication, trustworthiness, empathy, problem-sloving, and enthusiasim are important values in this career field because of the interactions with children, parents, and other professionals.
