Professional Fellows

Program

ABOUT

The Professional Fellows Program is a two-way, global exchange program designed to promote mutual understanding, enhance leadership and professional skills, as well as build lasting, sustainable partnerships between mid-level emerging leaders from foreign countries and the United States.

PFP participants are placed in intensive 5-6 week fellowships

The Professional Fellows Program (PFP) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and are administered by American Councils for International Education.

Participating countries:

Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Turkey, Ukraine, and Serbia

PFP theme that Moldova participates in:

Governance and Society

The Professional Fellows Program will be administered in two cycles

First Cohort: Fall 2023

Second Cohort: Spring 2024

Program Elements

  • Fellows will participate in a virtual Pre-Departure Orientation as well as an arrival orientation in Washington, DC

  • Fellows will spend four weeks in an individually tailored fellowship experience working in a U.S. placement host organization

  • Fellows will participate in a community service opportunity to engage with a U.S. community and participate in civic engagement

  • Fellows will develop a follow-on Reciprocal Project proposal to complete a project that meets a specific objective and builds on their participation in the Professional Fellows Program

  • Fellows will have a home hospitality experience with an American host family

  • The U.S.-based exchange component will conclude with a capstone three-day Professional Fellows Congress in Washington, D.C.

Section 3. Certify Your Eligibility

You need to check that you are eligible and move on

Section 4. Biografical Information

Indicate your biographical data, your eligibility, contact information, Current Employment Information, Emergency Contact, etc.

Section 5. Letter of Reference

The letter of recommendation is also requested online.

Section 6. Work History

Indicate the data about your current place of work, as well as describe in 100 words the general responsibilities at the work place.

Section 7. Education, Conferences, and Training History

List ALL your post-high school education history.

Section 8. International Experience

International experience is important, but it is not a deciding factor

Section 9. Placement Information

Participants should be prepared to live with U.S. host families. You must describe your feelings about the cultural exchange component, including any concerns you may have about living with a host family.

There are three (3) essay questions. You must answer all questions in English.

Each answer should be no more than 500 words.
