enteritis in rabbits

inflammation of the small intestine. it is caused by contamination of drinks and food of pathogenic microbes such as serratia but can also be caused by NSAIDS, radiation therapy, and autoimmune conditions

Etiology of Enteritis

symptoms- diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps and pain, bleeding, or mucus like discharge from the rectum, and fever

Disease symptoms and treatments

treatments- fluids,and pretroleum-based laxatives, and also enema{clean water mixed with unscented laxatives]

high quality, high fiber diet. Choose the diet appropriate for the life stage of your rabbit to ensure adequate fiber intake and avoid high simple- carbohydrate foods such as excess corn.
