What are my overall thoughts of each program now that I have spent some time researching and reflecting? Are you still interested? What excites me most about the program and what concerns do I have?

- Through my passion for Nursing, helping the public, and my talents as treating / caring for others, I will support families and sick individuals that foster curable treatment while also creating, eliminating, and discovering new ways to uplift and cure others.
- With my work statement It follows with my two majors I had chosen to research which is public health and nursing as UNCC provides these programs and majors at the university.
Why am I interested in this major/what attracted me to this major/program for this project?
- The two majors that have interested me and has attracted my attention is Public Health and Nursing. What had interested me and attracted me to the major of Public health and Nursing was that of the job oppurtunites I could come out from it and the connections and impact I can make within this field. I like how in this field I can use my communication skills and brains to help people in my area and all around the world because a person's health and life are very important to me.
Why am I interested in this major/what attracted me to this major/program for this project?
What does this major/program entail? What is it that I will be studying if I choose to pursue this major? What types of classes will I be taking? What skills will I gain?
- The types of classes and such that I will be studying if I pursue this major in public health would be classes such as Healthy Lifestyles, Foundations of Public Health, and Global Health. The skills I would have the oppurtunity to gain in this major are communication skills and a lot of research and social science skills.
- The types of classes I would study in the Nursing major would be classes such as Chemistry, Biology, Nusing classes, and Statistics. I will gain a lot of skills with these classes such as research science skills and also communication skills.
What does this major/program entail? What is it that I will be studying if I choose to pursue this major? What types of classes will I be taking? What skills will I gain?
Does this major offer any specific concentrations? If so, which of these are the most interesting to me and why?
- Yes, the Public Health major at UNCC provides three concentrations which are Community Health Practice, Epidemiology, and Population Health Analytics. The one concentration that stands out to me is Epidemiology because it deals with the incidence, distribution, and possible control of diseases and other factors relating to health in which is interesting to me.
Does this major offer any specific concentrations? If so, which of these are the most interesting to me and why?
What possible careers could this program prepare a graduate to pursue? Is graduate school an option?
- The possible careers that this program could provide for me are careers such as a dietician, nutritionist, a public health nurse, etc. Graduate school is an option for this major of public health as schools such as John Hopkins and Boston college provide Graduate programs for this major.
- The possible careers for this major of nursing can vary to such as being a school nurse, clinical nurse, traveling nurse, etc. There are graduate school options for this career in pursing a doctoral degree at places such as Chapel hill and University of Kentucky.
What possible careers could this program prepare a graduate to pursue? Is graduate school an option?
If I were to choose this program, what areas of research, professional internship or student organization opportunities could I pursue as an undergraduate student?
- If I were to choose this program, the areas of research I could go into are broad but the main concentrations that UNCC provides are epidemiology, population health analytics, and Community Health Practice. Culture and Health electives and Health-Related electives are scheduled around the major courses. An internship occurs after the first two semesters of upper division courses. There are oppurtunites for me to try and land an internship with Novant Health as they have an intership linked with UNCC there.
- There are programs and such for the majorof nursing at UNCC they provide such as externships. UNCC provides externships at other colleges as they are mostly 10 week externships that are fully paid externships. The colleges and universities that they provide this at are schools such as Duke University, Cone health center, Wake Forest University, etc.
In relation to my Meaningful Work Statement: how does this program align with my talents & gifts, interests, and my intended audience?
- My program aligns well with me talents, gifts, and interests well because my talents and gifts align with being social as helping people and families with certain situations. I am also good at organizing and memorizing things as this is also related to my talents. This major also aligns with my intended audience because as working in the public health field, I will have the oppurtunity to help families and people who are sick. I will have these oppurtunites as all of my gifts, interests, and audience all align well together.
In relation to my Meaningful Work Statement: what aspects of each program will be most challenging and what aspects do I believe I will enjoy most if I pursue the major/program at UNC Charlotte?
- I think the most challenging thing about the programs to me will be the amount of sciences I would take as some of the science courses for these majors are challenging. For me I will enjoy talking and communicating with professors and other students attending my major. I will also enjoy the classes as I like classes that are challenging but also interesting to me as I will learn new things that I have not learned before with the classes of these majors.
What are my overall thoughts of each program now that I have spent some time researching and reflecting? Are you still interested? What excites me most about the program and what concerns do I have?
- The overall thoughts I have in the programs I disscussed are that I might lean towards majoring in Nursing as the programs and externships it provides are interesting to me. The classes that I have to take for it might be hard but I am willing to put the effort in and pursing my career with it. What excites me about these programs is the limitless amount of oppurutnies it provides for me as I can do anything in the field that I want.
