ralph waldo emerson was an american lecturer, poet, essayist, and he was basically the person who led the transcendentalism movement

he belived that he saw a direct connection between man nature and god that god was best understood as a spirit thats always filling the world up with it's divine presence he also belived that all men and women were spiritually equal from birth that they all should be treated to with political and social equality and that slavery was a great evil that needed to be extinguished at any means necessary

how is transcendentalism in modern america

it's still here because people are still trying to get equality and freedom for certain things like gender and race trasncendentalism can be found in tv shows, newspaper, and ads. another part of trascendentalism that is still here is meditation and going out to explore nature to embrace it and transcend spiritually to a higher level don't stay inside go out anywhere even if you are in an busy area your backyard would be good enough and just close your eyes and think about what you hear and stuff
