For Anne's 13th birthday she revived this diary. Anne would write in this daily, not only about the war but also about her time in hiding. This diary that she kept is her telling of her experiences and feelings.

In the diary the Frank kept she explained her experiences during the war. You can watch Frank mature and become a young woman, and a"wise observer of human nature." In the beginning Anne talks about her fellow classmates, the ones she likes and the ones she despises. She continues to talk about her last few happy days, from here things start to take a dark turn. From here we are led to where her and her family will hide for the next 2 years.
