SUMMARY
The crew of the Cantebury discover an abandoned transport vessel called the Scopuli. They don't find any of the ship's crew, but they do discover a beacon transmitting a distress signal. Suspecting that the ship may be a trap set by pirates, they take the beacon and begin returning to the Cant. Before they make it, an unknown stealth warship arrives and, without warning, destroys the Cant with nuclear weapons. Holden sends an angry message to the attacking ship, but it ignores him and departs. Based on the highly advanced technology of the warship and the discovery that the beacon from the Scopuli is from Martians, the survivors suspect the MCRN of being behind the attack. This leads to the Cant General, James Holden, to broadcasting this information to all of space, causing an intergalactic war.

James Holden and his crew on the Cantebury,
an ice hauler, were just attaced by an unknown
aircraft. In his emergency broadcast Holden claims that
they found a MCRN (Martian) battery. Unknowingly,
this declared war on Mars. This will be the first ever inter-galactic war. Their location is unknown. 50crewmates
were killed and 3 were severely injured.
