Maths PGL Trip 23rd-27th June 2024

Sunday 23rd June

  • Students must be dropped off outside the Gibraltar Airport at 08:15.
  • Flight departing Gibraltar (GIB) 10:35 arriving at Bristol (BRS) 12:25. Flight number EZY2940
  • Coach collection at 13:45 from Bristol Airport and arriving at PGL Osmington Bay for 15:45.
  • Once we settle down in our rooms we will be shown a tour of the PGL site.
  • We will have some dinner and the evening entertainment will be Disc Golf.

Monday 24th June

  • Wake up and have breakfast at the cafeteria.
  • For each activity we will be split into two groups.
  • Their first activity they will undertake is the Marker Trail Activity. (09:00 to 12:10)
  • Lunch (2 hours) will always be onsite at the cafeteria. (12:10 to 14:15)
  • For the afternoon sessions, the activities will be Archery and Climbing. (14:15 to 17:25)
  • 1.5 hour break for rest and dinner. (17:25 to 19:00)
  • To end the evening, there will be a PGL tournament from 19:00 to 21:00.

Tuesday 25th June

  • Breakfast at the cafeteria.
  • During session one, one group will do Abseiling and the other group will do Fencing, for session two, they will swap (09:00 to 12:10)
  • Lunch at the cafeteria. (12:10 to 14:15)
  • For the afternoon sessions, the activities will be Aeroball and Vertical Challenge (14:15 to 17:25)
  • 1.5 hour break for rest and dinner. (17:25 to 19:00)
  • To end the evening, there will be a game of Laser Tag from 19:00 to 21:00.

Wednesday 26th June

  • Breakfast at the cafeteria.
  • Both groups will do Stand Up Paddle Boarding (09:00 to 12:10)
  • Lunch at the cafeteria. (12:10 to 14:15)
  • For the afternoon sessions, the activities will be Zip Wire and Survivor (14:15 to 17:25).
  • 1.5 hour break for rest and dinner. (17:25 to 19:00)
  • To end the evening, there will be a Camp Fire Activity where they will be able to chill out or play games from 19:00 to 21:00.

Thursday 27th June

  • Coach will pick us up at 01:45 and will arrive at Bristol Airport at 03:45 (Just under 3 hours before departure)
  • Flight departing Bristol (BRS) 06:35 arriving at Gibraltar (GIB) 10:35. Flight number EZY2939
  • Your child must be collected from Gibraltar Airport

How much?

Students will be able to purchase snacks daily from the PGL tuckshop or vending machines.

They accept debit/credit cards at Osmington Bay and this might be easier to budget for parents.

Students will only need money at both Gibraltar & Bristol Airport and at the PGL Site.

Students will need to be accountable for their own money, so they must take care.

4. Valuables

What shall I take?

1.

Students will need to take care of their own valuables. The school will not be held responsible for any items which may get damaged or lost.

We have arranged for travel insurance but this can never guarantee recovery of items.

We ask that all phones and money be taken care of as best as possible.

Passports will be collected and kept by teachers.

You can also contact Mrs Lester by calling the Bayside School reception on (+350) 20074500. She will then pass on any messages to Mr Duarte and the team.

6. Medication

Medication

1.

Any medication which is not to be self-administered must be given to members of staff before the trip. Please arrange for this to be done before the day of travel.

2.

Epi pens are to be checked and please provide spares for staff should they be required.

7. Mobile phones

Please understand that roaming charges and fees may be applied depending on usage.

As far as we are aware, there is wifi at PGL Osmington Bay but only in certain areas and this is for Group Leaders and supervising adults only.

Mobile phones are to be taken care of by the students, these will not be removed from students during the trip.

We ask parents to not be calling students at all times of the day. Please minimise calls and messages to the evenings.

We ask students to refrain from using mobile phones during certain periods of the day, especially when being addressed by members of staff or during any of the activities. Should students not cooperate, we will remove them for a period of time.

It goes without saying that should there be any need, we will contact parents immediately.

We ask that parents speak to students about the protocols expected when taking photos etc. Students are not to take photos of other members of the travelling group without permission.

8. Rooms

We will receive information on rooms shortly and we will accommodate as much as possible for students to be with friends but it must be understood that it isn't always possible.
