1. Henry Kissinger- He cant come due to the fact that he didn't really play an important part or make an impact on the cold war.
2. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg- They will not be attending because it might cause tensions between the other guests. They were suspected of being communist spies and were charged with crimes. We believe its best to not invite them because we don't want any tension.
Reasoning For Seating Chart
So both Mao & Gorbachev are prominent leaders who brought communism to their countries , they both have similar beliefs so we feel putting them next to each other would be good because they share the same moral beliefs . Also, if there is a debate on the table they could back each other up .
We decided to put sit them next to each other because they both strictly enforce communism , and they both were leaders of the soviet union as well as enforced many reforms that changed Russia's economy .
We choose to sit them across from each other because they had previously worked together and were already friends . They worked together throughout the Cuban Missile crisis . Also they both are communist , and were trying to make their countries prosperous as well as better their relationships with other countries.
JFK & LBJ were chosen to sit next to each other because they both were leaders of the united states and both were trying to contain communism . They also both were democrats so they could have similar beliefs and back each other up if a feud was started .
For our menu we decided to do a fusion of American , Chinese , and Russian Cusine.
Everyone is sat in the dining area. Lyndon B. Johnson and John F. Kennedy are seated next to each other and begin engaging in conversation.
John : "The way you handled the Vietnam War was very inspiring. I know you get a lot of criticism but I think you achieved a lot. "
Lyndon: "Thank you , you know especially after the Tet offensive I gained so much criticism I couldn't take it I had to resign for my well being."
John:" I completely understand I think people don't realize how hard it is to be President.
Lyndon: Exactly its a lot of pressure on a daily basis!"
John: "Well you achieved a lot and contained communism in South Vietnam so don't worry about the critics. You did what had to be done."
Lyndon: "Thank you. "
Nikita and Mikhail are sat next to each other start talking to each other about the space race.
Mikhail: "Nikita I've always wondered how you created Sputnik , what was the secret?"
Nikita: "It took so much money and effort but I wanted to get ahead of the Americans in the space race."
Mikhail: (laughs) "Yes the Americans spent so much on defense spending after the launch of Sputnik so they could send something better into outer space. "
Nikita: "I know right.. the US really felt they were behind in the arms race."
Mikhail: "Us soviets are always ahead of the Americans!"
