Overview

The Cuban Revolution was established to overthrow the Cuban government and the head of state, Fulgencio Batista, that lasted from 1953 to 1959. It was a landmark movement in both Cuban independence and the rise of communism in the 20th century.

The people who revolted all came together to overthrow Fulgencio Batista due to his brutal rulings over Cuba.

  • Batista was ruthless and would take away every fragment of freedom individuals owned

  • Would suspend constitutional guarantees
