Men were expected to bring honour and wealth to families.

They held all power within their homes and controlled all aspects of their lives (inlcuding financial).

Men were always superior to their female counterparts.

Men had more advantages than women in almost aspects of life.

They had freedom of speech and freedom in action were allowed to do and say a lot more than women. It was considered a crime to insult men.

These freedoms included having affairs without any questions being asked. Women's economic reliance on men meant that they rarely questions their husbands actions.
