'Be Right Back'

on teams meeting

To make the

'Teams' meeting experience

smoother...

INTRODUCTION

As working from home has become

the new norm these days, “Teams” has seen a large rise in its usage globally, especially for meetings.

Microsoft Teams now has 75 million daily active users.

As 'One Microsoft' and being 'Customer Obsessed' its our responsibility to make the Teams experience smoother

for each and every user.

Many a times, we might want to take a little break and walk away from our devices, particularly when we‘re participating in meetings that are of longer duration and also when we have a marathon of meetings in a day, one after the other.

BRB FEATURE

problem

In such scenarios, we either normally speak abruptly to say "I'll be right back" or type a message in the chat window to say "I’ll join in five minutes", and later, to say "I'm back". These interruptions could most probably disrupt the flow of the meeting as they are distractions that are not so easy to avoid.

Solution

To make this a smoother process, when the user has to go away for some reason, he can click the coffee mug icon and walk away. The user's display picture will be updated with a coffee mug icon which indicates other meeting participants that the user is away from the keyboard.

New look

The coffee mug icon will be visible across the user's name in the participants pane.

In this way, nobody’s focus would be diverted in listening or while speaking in the meetings.

IDEA-2

When the participants don't join an accepted meeting, or leave a meeting in between, their status will still appear as "in a meeting". This might mislead others who are waiting for their availability.

Status Feature

Reset Status

Solution: When a participant is no longer part of the meeting, Resetting the status would help others in knowing his actual availability
