Infant to Toddler Development Graphic Organizer

Physical growth and motor development

Topic 1

The very concept of physical growth and motor development from infant to toddler is the first 2 years of it’s individual life. Infants usually triple in weight in the first year of their life. Physical growth is very rapid for the first 2 years of a child's life along with their motor development is also developing and changing very rapidly. Large and small muscles are growing and developing as toddlers start to pick up things with their fingers which ultimately trigger the use of smaller muscles.

Cognitive, language, and literacy development

Topic 2

The substantial connections between cognitive, language, and literacy development all intertwine with one another . Cognitive and language development are related to each other. In other words the stronger the language skills are, the stronger the cognitive skills will be too. Furthermore the weaker the language skills are, the weaker the cognitive abilities become as well.

Social and emotional development

The evaluation of concepts of social and emotional development between infant and toddler are being upbeat and encouraging to your child, showing love and affection, and being aware of your child's feelings and behaviors. Establishing routines are a major concept in an infant and child's developmental life. Feelings of the child depend a lot on social and emotional development.
