Hamlet is the young Prince of Denmark whose father was recently murdered by his uncle King Claudius. Hamlet's mother, Gertrude, then marries King Claudius after her husband was killed. Hamlet is in search of answers for his father's death.

Hamlet Sr. is Hamlet's father who was killed by King Claudius, his brother. The ghost he becomes after his death shows up around Denmark and to Hamlet in an effort to show Hamlet who his father's murderer truly is.
"My hour is almost come when I to sulfurous and tormenting flames must render up myself."
Gertrude is Hamlet's mother and Hamlet Sr. ex-wife. She is now married to King Claudius and possibly had something to do with Hamlet Sr. murder.
"The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
King Claudius is Hamlet's Uncle and Hamlet's Step-dad. Claudius marries Gertrude after the unexpected death of King Hamlet. King Claudius also murdered King Hamlet, his brother, in his sleep by pouring poison down his ear.
"Oh my offense in rank, it smells to heaven."
Polonius is the father to Ophelia and Laertes. Polonius' wife is unknown. Polonius is also the chief counsellor to King Claudius. Killed by Hamlet.
"Though this be madness, yet there is method in't."
Ophelia is Polonius' daughter and Laertes sister. She has feelings for Hamlet but was told to stay away from him. This made Polonius think she was the cause of Hamlet's maddness.
"He hath, my lord, of late made tenders of his affection to me."
Laertes is Polonius' son and Ophelia's brother. He is sent off to Paris and gives advice to Ophelia to stay away from Hamlet.
"Be wary then, best safety lies in fear."
Hamlet's loyal friend. Horatio is the first one to see the ghost. Hamlet trusts Horatio and trusts him with the fact that Hamlet is faking his madness.
"A countenance more in sorrow than in anger."
