In hakha chin culture there's a traditional thing called back-strap weaving which chin women have made for centuries. They get the cotton, spin it on a yarn, dye the clothing with natural dye, and then weave the fabric in different styles. This usually takes about 3 months depending on the pattern of the tunic, shawl, and a blanket.
