Traditions
In my family, growing up we had many traditions. Every year for summer break we went on a hiking trip to a new state. Each year for Christmas we would go on a skiing trip. The morning of we would wake up to a spread for breakfast that always included Santa shaped pancakes. After we ate we would get to open our presents. I still remember these trips and how much fun I always had on them.

I am half Japanese, a quarter Italian and a quarter white. My dad is Japanese and my mom is White and Italian. Growing up my dad never really taught us much about our Japanese heriatage, however my mom was raised in a very traditional Italian household and brought those values into our home growing up. She always made extravegant dinners and really played a house wife role, and my dad was always working to provide for our family.
Growing up in Texas, playing sports and the weather being hot 90% of the year I basically wore athletic shorts and a t-shirt my entire childhood. Occasionally I would dress up and wear a sun dress for certain things like church, but other than that I was in comfortable clothes that allowed me to be cool and active while playing soccer.
When I was younger my family ate mostly Italian and American food. My mom is Italian and grew up in a very traditional home, so when she started her own family she decided to continue the traditions.
My family and I are Christians. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and that it is about having a relationship with God rather than just living by religious customs.
Although I am half Japanese and a quarter Italian, growing up my family only spoke English. Being born and raised in Texas I feel I have a tendency to use a lot of Texas slang, such as, the word "y'all" and "ain't".
Now that I am an adult and have started my own family I have decided to carry on some of my family traditions. For example, for Christmas we go on a skiing trip each year and I plan on making my kids the same spread that I got every Christmas morning. And most importantly, I still have the same beliefs and will raise my child with those values.
