The Third Punic War

Rome v.s Carthage

Rome has a fearsome military and powerful strategy's, but will it be enough? Carthage wants revenge for their epic defeat in the second Punic war, and they have the advantage of fighting in their territory. Who will win in this epic face-off of the strongest forces in ancient history? Read on to find out.

Rome already won the previous two wars, but they are worried about Carthage's rapidly growing power. Rome can only antagonize them, not wanting to attack.

Carthage

Carthage wanted revenge against Rome for defeating them in the First and Second Punic War, but also for having to pay a huge fine and sign the treaty. Luckily for them, they remade the money quickly by trading. Carthage loves trading, and makes easy money from it. They do not have an army, but enough currency to easily rent a huge one.

The Treaty

Now that we know a bit more about both sides, lets roll into one of the most important parts of this war. The Treaty.

The Treaty says that Carthage can not attack without Rome's permission. It was signed in the Second Punic War as one of the two punishments for Carthage's loss, the other being the large fine.

Why was it Broken?

When Carthage was attacked by Massinas, (An ally of Rome) they had no choice but to retaliate without the permission of Rome. This was later called The Battle Of Oroscopa. Rome did not allow Carthage to attack because Rome and Massinas were allies.

This is the final showdown. The final battle between good and evil. Not sure which side is which. But anyways, this is the battle that decides it all.

The Siege

Here is what it might have looked like:

First off, for those of you who don't know what a siege is, a siege is basically when you surround a city and cut off all their resources. Rome besieged Carthage, and destroyed house by house until the city was in ruins.
