Linguist Anthropologist
By: Olivia Mooney
Linguistics is the study of language and it's structure, including the study of morphology, syntax, phonetics, and semantics. There are multiple linguistic jobs such as a linguistics professor, Forensic Linguist, Computational Linguist, and Linguistic Anthropologists. Other words for linguistics are dialectal, semantic, and grammatical. Some things they do are study different communication methods, study historical language, and study different cultures.
Cost of College
On average, college could cost around $45,000 a year for an out of state student. This covers cost of tuition and fees, books supplies, as well as room and board.
I can see myself doing this in 15 years because I've always liked the forms of words and different languages. Linguists sometimes get to travel to foreign places and I think that would be fun to do.
Education Required
You need a bachelors degree, and probably your masters degree. A bachelors degree is about four years of college, your masters would be 1.5 to 2 years of college.
With this job you could earn an average of $77,650 per year.
You would have to take Semantics, phonetics, and morphology.
