The Amazing Sorting Bin

We heard about littering problems and wanted to help. This is a problem we see everyday in our school and our streets. So we thought about the Amazing Sorting Bin.

Abstract

We are making the Amazing Sorting Bin to help decrease the need for landfills. Why? We want to help the enviroment. The Amazing Sorting Bin is an evolution of the average garbage bin. It will sort garbage according to however you program it. By color, size, shape, and more. It can expand to hold more garbage. It's features include: sorting garbage, playing music, changing colour, and expanding to hold more garbage.

History of the garbage bin

  • first appearance: England 1875
  • was used to store the ashes of burned waste
  • U.S started using the garbage bin in 1885
  • horse carts were transportation to pick up garbage
  • it was evolved on March 12th 1968
  • It was invented in the company named Frank Rotherham Mouldings
  • Garbage bins evolved over time, now they have gotten bigger and they can store more garbage

Breakthrough

The Amazing Sorting Bin would need LED lights, a touch screen computer, a music player, a scanner, a place for storing garbage, and garbage dividers. We would need all these things to exceed it's job by sorting garbage, collecting garbage, and to be cool and fun to look at.

Future Technology

The Amazing Sorting Bin features include LED lights, a touchscreen computer, a music player, a scanner, a place to store garbage, and garbage dividers. The LED lights are for making the Amazing Sorting Bin visible at night and for making it cool. The touchscreen computer is to program the Amazing Sorting Bin anyway you want. The music player is for entertainment and for some blind people to hear where the Amazing Sorting Bin is. The scanner is for scanning the garbage so the Amazing Sorting Bin can sort all the garbage. The Amazing Sorting Bin needs place to store the garbage or it wouldn't be a garbage bin. The Amazing Sorting Bin needs garbage dividers so it can divide any garbage or waste into their right category.

Design Process

Design Process

We had other ideas, like the kid car, the flying shoes, and e.t.c but none of those ideas would solve a big problem. The Amazing Sorting bin will hopefully solve a problem, which is cutting out a bit of landfills. We picked this idea because we thought it would be the best, and because it helps not only us, but the enviroment.

Negative Consequences & positive consenquences

The negative consequences of the Amazing Sorting Bin are if you program it wrong then it may not work how you want it to, It will also need some type of energy to play music, light up, and for the touchscreen computer. It would need these things constantly to do it's job.Another negative consequence is that if the scanner stops working it wouldnt be a sorting bin but just a regular trash can/bin. The last consequence is that it loses jobs.

The positive consequences of the Amazing Sorting Bin are to collect garbage and to sort it. Hopefully this will have an impact in the world if it is successful. The Amazing Sorting Bin is designed to make less pollution and to help make everyday life easier.
