Fall 2020
Through completion of the LEAD Framework, I found commonalities in strengths across my personal, professional, and academic life. For example, I am organized in all facets of my life. This is useful in planning and remaining on task.
I also like to be in control personally, which prevents me from asking for help often. This will not be beneficial academically with my lack of research experience. These are two weaknesses pointed out through this activity that I will focus on refining to help me achieve my goals.
Haave and Keus (2019), stated that “metacognitive knowledge involves being aware of our conceptual understanding, as well as our learning strategies and skills” (p.4). Going forward as I continue through the doctoral program, this metacognition will be key in helping me push forward and help in reevaluating my short term goals to remain focused and on task.
