CONCLUSION

CONCLUSION

  • Idea: 9/10 - very unique and interesting idea but it might be quite difficult
  • Documentation: 9/10 - really solid, I like the one pager, roadmap and FAQ
  • Product: 8/10 - existing product, clientbase - just need some adjustments and expansion
  • Team: 8/10 - team experienced and have been involved with the subject for a while
  • ICO conditions: 4/10 - hard cap is too high and there will be another sale in the future - this might devalue tokens in a long run

VERDICT

Verdict: 7.3/10

Hype factor: very low

LEAP is unique, original and very significant in scope. I expect both e-sport and blockchain technologies to do well in the upcoming years and LEAP does connect both.

Short term investment score: 6.1/10

High cap and second ICO might make the initial ICO participation risky. However there is currently lack of interest in the ICO so it might be worth to track the investment amount and invest if the amount is low.

Long term investment score: 8.6/10

There is no major competition and the reach of the project is great, I expect the LEAP to go gain exposure once LoL and PuBG is ported to the platform. It's a unique project so it won't go mainstream but there will be niche users that should find it very useful.

Good, bad and risks

  • The good:
  • working product and existing market
  • well planned out roadmap
  • team is large and have been involved with e-sports for a while now
  • original and quite unique project

  • The bad:
  • very high contribution cap
  • second ICO in the future
  • quite niche market for now

  • Risks:
  • second ICO might devalue the tokens
  • the project might be hard to implement

Idea

IDEA

  • LEAP is aiming to be the first eSports federation powered by blockchain and smart contracts.

  • It will use the blockchain platform to govern relations and transactions between fans, coaches, players, teams, leagues, advertisers, and game publishers using smart contracts.

  • LEAP was founded by the team behind GameLeap, which has been leading online educational platform for Dota 2. The team is now building the first eSports university.

  • They are trying to be similar to FIFA Federation (organizer of the football world cup) of eSports

  • Verdict: Very ambitious and unique but might be hard to pull off.

9/10

DOCUMENTATION

DOCS

  • Website looks professionally, isn't too flashy and really easily presents information - everything is laid out on the front page just at it should be.

  • Whitepaper is only 20 pages, explains the project well but could be slightly more detailed. There is also one pager with summary available (very useful).

  • There is blog, FAQ and roadmap. FAQ and roadmap are very detailed and well done.

  • Team description is very detailed, every team member described. LinkedIn profiles are there as well.

  • Verdict: Overall very solid documentation that does explain what the project does.

EXISTING PRODUCT

EXISTING

PRODUCT

  • Game-Leap has a working products - Dota2 and Overwatch related websites with courses, guides and forums which allows people to sell and buy variety of resources to learn about the game. They claim to have 16k+ customers.

  • They also have a Youtube channel with plenty of activity and many videos with a lot of views: 66k+ subs and 4million+ total views.

  • The actual application of blockchain not done yet - the development of the GameLeap 2.0 (the eSports University) from Q2 2018. It will use smart contracts, LEAP tokens and blockchain.

  • Verdict: There is a working product but it doesn't use blockchain or tokens. The main release is planned for Q2 2018.

Usage

MORE DETAILS

LEAP tokens can be used to:

  • Sponsor players and teams

tokens can be used to enter into relations with other stakeholders in the eSports industry, organize tournaments, arrange sponsorship deals and others.

  • Advertise in the LEAP ecosystem

You can purchase native advertising space and exposure within the LEAP ecosystem by paying in the tokens.

  • Get services and products

LEAP tokens can be exchanged for products and services such as access to GameLeap University, software, hardware, merchandise, memberships and tickets, coming out of the LEAP ecosystem.

Competition/future

  • FirstBlood and DreamTeam have some similarities but LEAP does appear to be bigger in scope. There are also some e-sport betting projects but LEAP doesn' deal with that side of e-sports.

  • Roadmap:
  • Already existing: Dota2 and Overwatch (2.0) platforms
  • Q1 2018 - Developing additional features for GameLeap 2.0, such as LEAP token integration and personalized data analysis and porting the current Dota platform to GameLeap 2.0
  • Q2 2018 - Launching GameLeap 2.0 for LoL and introducing Russian, Spanish, German
  • Q3 2018 - Launching GameLeap 2.0 for PuBG
  • Also 2018: League Tournament Framework and pro-team framework on smart contracts

TEAM

TEAM

  • Main office and most of the team is based in Bulgaria but there are team members that are based internationally as well.
  • Around 20 team members
  • Plenty of developers in the team, most of the team members have been involved with gaming scene before and have experience with the gaming world.
  • Three advisors for the ICO and they are bringing both e-sport and blockchain knowledge

  • Verdict: Team is big and filled mostly with developers. They already have a working GameLeap platform for Dota2 and Overwatch and are working on the GameLeap University.

Overall: There is almost no interest in the ICO for now which could be considered both bad and good from the investor point of view.

ICO

ICO

  • Private pre-sale sold 5% of tokens now opened to the public
  • Main sale date not annouced yet (Q1 2017)
  • accepted tokens ETH, BTC

  • MAXIMUM CROWDSALE CAP: varies depending on the bonuses but my estimation is around $40 million

  • PREDICTED MARKET CAP (if all tokens sold): around $50 million
  • TOTAL MARKET CAP WITH UNUSED TOKENS (if all tokens sold): around $100 million

  • Verdict: The ICO cap is too high and there will be future sale as well that could potentially devalue the existing tokens. I don't think they will reach the cap though so I would track the contribution amounts.

4/10

Token distribution

  • 1 billion tokens in total
  • 40% - for sale (5% privatepresale, 9% presale, 26% main sale)
  • 20% - sold in the future sale
  • 15% - ecosystem
  • 15% - team
  • 5% - advisors and partners
  • 5% - bounty

  • Unsold tokens frozen for potential future sale and no futher tokens created
  • Bonuses based on the number of tokens sold
  • Based price in main sale 1ETH = 3000 LEAP
  • Based price in presale 1ETH = 4200 LEAP (40% bonus)

  • Biggest bonus in closed presale 75%, main presale 50%, biggest bonus in main sale 20%
