Alternate Timeline Texas Revolution

Law of April 6th, 1830

What Was The Law of April 6th, 1830

What Was The Law

The law of April 6th, 1830 was created by the Mexican government and prevented slaves in Texas, made it illegal to settle in Texas, and put a tax on imported and exported goods.

Slaves

Slaves

The law made people unable to bring slaves to which would make them less likely to move there because they wouldn't have slaves. I do not want to change this because I feel at that time because people only had one or two slaves there for that wouldn't have been there main concern.

Settling

Settling

The law made it illegal to settle which made people not able to come from America. I want to change this because then people would not being moving to Texas illegally but I would put a process in place to be able to move to Texas.

Taxes

Taxes

Goods imported and exported now had a tax on them which made it to where people made less money from selling goods in Texas. I would like to change this because this by still having a tax on goods coming inot texas but none of ones coming out.

Law of April 6th, 1830

Now the law of April 6th, 1830 doesn't allow slaves, doesn't have a tax on good exported from texas, and settling is not illegal but there is a process in order to settle.

Alternate Timeline

Disturbance at Anahuac

There would be no need for a tax collecter and mexican soldiers because would only be taxes on goods being exported from Texas.

The Turtle Bayou Resolutiuons

This event most likely would have never happend due to no Mexican soldiers in Anahuac

Law of April 6th, 1830

No slaves in Texas, a tax on good exported from Texas, and instead of not being allowed to settle in Texas there is a process in order to settle.

The Conventions of 1832/1833

These comventions likely wouldn't have happened because they mostly talked about the law of 1830 at the first convenmtion and at the second they talked about the unresolved problmes from the first convention.

Events

The Arrest of Stephen F. Austin

Austin wouldn't have stopped having settlers therefore I think Santa Anna would still arrest him.

Santa Anna Becomes President

Santa Anna most likely would have been less strict on Texas due to people not revolting as much becasue of strict laws.

The Battle of Gonzales

This fight most likely wouldn't have happened and the Constitution at Washington on the Brazos most likely would have been the end and Texas would be independant.

The Grass Fight

This fight would not have happened becasue Texas would have been independant because of the Constitution at Washington on the Brazos and Mexico and Texas would not have as much Tension.

Summery

Since the Law of April 6th 1830, was not as strict as before there were not as many people wanting change therefore Texas got independance in a much easier way compared to multiple battles for independance.
