Our mission at Ranch Creek Elementary School is to educate and engage all students to their highest potential in a safe and secure environment.

Engage learners in implementing technology to enhance their learning, while taking responsibility for their devices and creatively accomplishing all learning goals.
Provide learners the opportunity to engage in personalized digital learning while appropriately adapting to the technological, social, and academic environments they encounter.
Develop student ownership of their learning at any time, any place, with changing levels of challenge as they engage in research, and global collaboration.

DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP IN THE 21st Century
DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP
Digital Citizenship Instruction is included as part of BYOD implementation in August and is embedded into the year-long curriculum.
Lessons include:
- Internet Safety
- Creative Credit and Copyright
- Cyber Security
- Cyber Bullying
Resources: Common Sense Media, Digital Passport Curriculum, isafe.org, and Mackin eBooks
CYBER SECURITY
Students log-in to ASD 20 network and are protected by the district firewall.
Since students are using ASD20's network, they will not be using your data plan.
DEVICE SECURITY
Devices are stored in the classroom.
Classrooms are locked at the end of the day.
Students learn to take care of their devices.
Student Responsibility

DEVICE REGISTRATION
All fourth and fifth grade parents and students are encouraged to bring their personal device to the library on the school testing days in August for device registration.
If you plan to check-out a device from the school, please also visit the library with your child on testing days in August.
