HEALTH TIMELINE

The first medical society was built in Boston, Massachusetts in 1735. Used for medical professionals to educate themselves and collaborate with other doctors.

Mostly women were the caretakers during this time period. Most of the illnesses and sickness were treated from folk remedies (herbs, household items, food products).

Mid-1800s

An increase of hospitals began to pop up throughout America so that surgeries could be done.

The wars during this time period brought many diseases and illnessess due to thousands of soliders living in harsh conditions and severe cold weather.

As the workforce advanced more injuries appeared and illness from chemicals began to occur more often. Unions were created to protect those employees.
