Where it was born
The origin of golf is not clear but the theory more widespread is that the golf was born in Scotland when two farmer were playing throwing stones at each other using sticks.
In Scotland have been written the rules, built the first camp and disputed the first tournament.

The Ryder is the most important golf event. The best 12 european players play against the best 12 american players. It's played every two years and the players play for glory and they doesn't get money.
History
Originally contested between Great Britain and the United States, the first official Ryder Cup took place in the United States in 1927 at Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Since 1979 the American team play against European team.
Format
The Ryder Cup involves various match play competitions between players selected from two teams of twelve. It takes place from Friday to Sunday with a total of 28 matches being played.

FAIR PLAY
In golf the fair play is very important:
1)you must respect the other players and the golf course;
2)you mast wear adequately clothes;
3) you can not disturb other player and you cant break the clubs.

The game
The course consists of 18 holes which are divided into par 3, par 4 and par 5 holes, which are to be concluded in 3, 4 or five shots.
Whoever completes the course with less strokes wins. During the game it is possible to incur in penalty shots due to hazards or infringement of game rules.
Golf course
It comprises a series of holes, each consisting of a teeing ground, a fairway, the rough and other hazards, and a green with a flag stick and hole. A standard round of golf consists of 18 holes.
Golf equipment
A player usually carries several clubs during the game (but no more than fourteen, the limit defined by the rules). There are four major types of clubs, known as woods, irons, wedges and putters. A player also need a golf glove, balls and tees.
