Susan B Anthony was born on February 15th 1820. She was born in Adams, Massachusetts with her family. Her mother was a cotton mill owner and most of the family was polliticaly active. Susan B Anthony was not a slave and her family did not own any, her family was also with the abolition movement against slavery. Susan B Anthony was middle class so she had a decent amount of money and ended up moving in 1845 to New York.

Susan B Anthony was fighting against Slavery, and womens rights. She wanted women to have the same rights as men and also wanted to put slavery to an end. At Susans time period there was not as much rights for women as they're were for men, and there was also a lot of slaves and slave owners.

In 1869 she decided to take a stand against the people not wanting women's rights and decided to make the National women's suffrage association. She made the group with Elizabeth Candy Stanton. But she did not stop there. She gave speeches around the world trying to convince as many people as possible to let women have equal rights. And also worked as chief of New York's William Lloyd garrisons anti slavery act in 1856. At the end of the day all she wanted was for everybody to be equal. But after the civil war she campaigned to have the fourteenth amendmet applied to women and African Americans and it did not pass through, but that did not discourage her because she still had enough hope to continue fighting for her rights. By the 1890's she had passed all the hate and discredit she got for the rights she was fighting for ans more and more people started believing in her fight for equal rights.

But she was not finished yet, her goal was to get equal rights for all people. She continued to travel around in different places to get the vote from more people and they ended up going better because more and more people liked her ideas and looked at her like a hero. In 1900 she had retired, she was 80 years old at the time. And she decided to pass her ideas on to Carrie chapman catt. Catt eventually campaigned for the 19th amendment and it was eventually made possible. For some you might say she did all that work for nothing you are wrong, without her being present Catt would not have been succesful with the campaigning for the nineteenth amendment. Susan brought a bunch of attention to the problem and Catt did the finishing touches.

Susan B Anthony is celebrated in most places in America. February 15 is the Birthday of susan and is also the day she is celebrated. She is one of the most influential leaders in the world and she will stay one of the best leader.
