here is a list of people that have been corrupted by greed and ambition.

Macbeth and the Real World

Hitler

Hitler was the ruler of Germany in World War 2 and had a hatred for jews. He used the jewish people as a scapegoat and mass murdered them in prison camps. His ambition also drove him to attempt to take over the world. Many had joined him in the war. However, he did start to lose the war, the german people were fighting back telling him to stop, and foreign nations started to win the war, it got to the point where he possibly committed suicide. His admission and desire drove Hitler to his death, similar to how Macbeth's ambition drove him to his death.

Tanya Harding

Tanya Harding is a skilled olympic figure skater. She started skating at the age of 3 and won her first national title in 1991 (Tonya Harding). However later in her career Tanya's ex husband ordered a hit man on her competitor Kerrigan in hopes he couldn't compete in the next olympic games, she later pleaded guilty into hindering the investigation into the attack (Tonya Harding). People believe that she hired the hit on Kerrigan, meaning she was so filled with emotion that she was willing to hurt other people to achieve her goals, just like Macbeth.

Qin Shi Huang

Qin Shi Huang was China's first emperor. He ruled for 26 years and was a very efficient ruler. However, later in his life Qin Shi Huang was obsessed with immortality. He spent his later years searching for an immortality elixir, and even ordered an official search to find one (First Emperor Search for Immortality Elixir). His search eventually ended in him drinking mercury which is poisioness. Just like in Macbeth his obsession eventually ended in his death.
