  • 18th century movement by John Wesley

  • Sought to reform the Church of England

  • Brought to America through Irish immigrants who were converted by John Wesley

  • James Oglethorpe invited John and Charles Wesley to come to his colony of Georgia.

  • There they started churches and became missionaries.
