Cultural Identities Mind Map

Grace Woodford

I am 19

Age

I don't see myself like most 19 year olds. Most of my friends are older than I am, although I am placed within this group it plays into my co-culture because I have stepped outside of it which is unusual for most my age.

White/Caucasian

Race/Ethnicity

Both of my parents are white/Caucasian, I have grown up in a growing community with increasing diversity and I use my advantage to amplify the voices of others in need such as the BLM Movement that has gained more attention lately.

Agnostic

Religion

I was raised Lutheran, I attended Sunday school for awhile as a child. As I grew older my ideals changed. I now believe that it is unknown, I am unsure as to whether or not there is or isn't a God.

Lesbian

Sexual Orientation

I came out my freshman year of high school. I have known since 8th grade. I am not only an ally of the LGBTQ+ community, I am also a member which defines a large part of my co-culture.

Female

Gender

I am a female, I like to do my makeup, I also enjoy the color pink. Although those are stereotypical female actions and interests I am also not the girliest girl, I am not fond of dresses or heels and love sneakers.

American/North America

Nationality/Region

I have lived in the Untied States my entire life. I was born American and would love to live in another country at some point in my life.

Middle Class

Socioeconomic Status

I grew up in a middle class household. My parents are divorced so I used to go back and forth. My mom always provided me with what I needed no matter what and this has shaped my co-culture into helping those who are in need.

Mental Health

Disabilities

My disabilities or weak spots relate to mental health. Although they are not visible, I have struggled over the years and it has placed me with a group of amazing people from the Journey on Janna Foundation. This plays a part in my co-culture because I am now proud to help others overcome their struggles.
